Rosemary Murray Library, Murray Edwards College Cambridge

The Rosemary Murray Library at Murray Edwards College (formerly New Hall Cambridge) was built in the 1960s. It’s barrel-vaulted false clerestory is clearly something to behold, and it’s top floor incites fear of heights for even the most steadfast of souls. The photos were award-winners in the Architecture Photography MasterPrize Winner in Cultural Interior Photography (2022). The curves and leaves showing through the windows soften the expanse of concrete. Of note in the series is a rare self-portrait of the photographer.

This photographic collection of the Rosemary Murray Library at Murray Edwards College Cambridge was photographed in 2018 and contains 46 images, a small selection of which are shown below and available as giclee prints in many sizes. Fine art photography of the Rosemary Murray Library, Murray Edwards College Cambridge presented as part of the large Illuminating Cambridge Libraries series.

Created and presented with thanks to the librarians and by kind permission of the President and Fellows of the College. Click here to learn more about the library.
