Library, Girton College Cambridge

The historic library (built in 1930s) provides a perfect complement to the new contemporary library extension completed in 2005. The historic room has tall vaulted and beamed ceilings with sympathetic furniture including the large armchairs adorned with lions. The newer extension has a minimalist contemporary feeling with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden.
